Pro Arts Gallery in cooperation with Jack London Square presented Migratory Cultures, an outdoor video projection mapping event. Artists Robin Lasser and G. Craig Hobbs teamed with Pro Arts and Jack London Square to connect regional experiences of immigration with stories from around the world.
The event features outdoor video mapped projections onto the wall of the Sunset Magazine building in Jack London Square. Imagery includes portraits of 15 immigration stories as told by Bay Area residents representing 12 different countries, including stories from Oakland residents. The work combines these stories with imagery and sounds of species migrations and the night skies to represent our shared global commons and the differences as well as universality of human movement and experience.
